The Sri Sooktam is one of the sacred chants found in the Rig Veda which is recited by millions of Hindus every day, seeking the blessings of goddess Sri or Mahalakshmi. Sri Sookta Homam is performed with the chanting of the verses from the Sri Sooktam and offerings of bilva leaves, fruits, lotuses etc are poured into the sacred fire with the chanting of every 'richa' or verse. The Sooktam is chanted 108 times or 1008 times according to need.
