The Ayushya Homam is performed for enhancing the longevity of the person and to overcome life threatening ailments. The Homam is performed with the chanting of sacred chants from the Vedas, particularly the Ayush suktam. This Homam must be performed on an individual's birthday as per his/her Janma Nakshatra as per the lunar calendar.
